Synopsis
Responsible for leading and supervising cargo terminal operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and service excellence in line with IATA, GCAA, and airline standards. Handles special cargo (pharma, perishables, live animals) per CEIV and GDP regulations, and assumes full operational responsibility in the Duty Manager’s absence.
Accountabilities

Manage shift operations in accordance with approved shift patterns, monitoring staff allocation, productivity, and compliance with service level agreements.

Maintain full visibility and control over all cargo handling activities, ensuring strict adherence to safety, security, and regulatory standards.

Enforce compliance with UAE laws, GCAA, IATA regulations, and customer airline requirements, while promoting a culture of open reporting for hazards, incidents, and near misses.

Ensure accurate management of rosters, attendance records, and leave approvals; oversee staff training and task allocation to maintain operational readiness.

Prepare detailed shift reports and handovers, communicate significant events, and escalate issues affecting cargo handling to the line manager or duty manager.

Identify operational risks, propose mitigation strategies, and provide feedback for process and service improvements, contributing to overall efficiency and safety of cargo operations.

Ensure strict adherence to the organizational code of conduct, including wearing the official company-provided uniform during duty hours.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders in alignment with organizational directives; maintain professional decorum and report concerns to the line manager.

Prepare and submit detailed shift reports to the line manager, covering activities, incidents, tasks, and stakeholder communications during shifts.

Enforce compliance with quality, safety, customer service, and security standards, and take appropriate corrective action for violations or unsafe practices as per company policies.

Perform any other duties delegated or assigned by the line manager.
Education & Experience
• Educated to at least high school level, preferably diploma level in logistics, operations management or related discipline with acquired specialization in cargo handling operations.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in airport operations, of which 1 year must be in cargo operations.
• Completion Certificate on IATA – TCR, PCR, LAR trainings are desirable
• Fluency in English is considered an added advantage
• Proficient in computer systems and applications. #LI-DNI
