Synopsis

This role reports to the Senior Portfolio Manager and is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of technology initiatives within a defined operational sub-domain. The Delivery Manager will oversee the sourcing and onboarding of new suppliers, manage implementation of key operational systems, and ensure projects deliver measurable business outcomes.

 

The role requires flexibility in delivery approach using Waterfall and Agile methodologies where appropriate, running structured projects where appropriate, while also applying Agile practices for iterative or cross-functional initiatives. Beyond managing scope, budget, and quality, the Delivery Manager will drive business value realisation, act as the focal point between stakeholders and suppliers, and ensure the delivered solution is sustainable, safe, and fit for operations.

Accountabilities

  • Lead delivery of assigned projects/programmes within the sub-domain, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Oversee supplier sourcing, contracting, and delivery management for operational technology solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and operational needs.
  • Develop and maintain the overall project plan, risk log, and dependency map in line with agreed business objectives.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering and solution definition, balancing operational safety, compliance, and innovation.
  • Establish and maintain a stakeholder engagement plan, ensuring clear, timely, and tailored communication at all levels (including steering committees).
  • Work with Business Analysts and Product Owners to manage scope, requirements traceability, and change control.
  • Ensure benefits are tracked, measured, and reported, with lessons learned embedded into future deliveries.
  • Act as delivery coach for mixed Agile/Waterfall environments, ensuring delivery teams operate effectively and adopt fit-for-purpose practices.
  • Proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies across suppliers and internal teams, escalating where required.

Education & Experience

  • 7+ years’ experience in technology delivery management, with proven ability to deliver projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Airline & Airport operations experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, or Scrum Master (CSM) preferred.
  • Strong track record in supplier/vendor management and delivery of third-party technology solutions.
  • Experience with aviation or other safety-critical operational technology is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, JIRA, or equivalent PPM and Agile tooling.
  • Strong analytical and risk management skills; able to evaluate and address complex project risks objectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills; proven ability to build trust with both business stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Able to manage multiple concurrent priorities under pressure, maintaining focus on delivery and value.
