Synopsis
The Head of EMCT Program will lead the end-to-end delivery of the new East Midfield cargo terminal at Abu Dhabi International Airport, ensuring successful implementation of all workstreams including the Material Handling System (MHS), infrastructure development, systems integration, testing, and operational handover. This roles serves as the strategic leader for the cargo terminal program, ensuring alignment with business goals, regulatory requirements, and operational readiness.
Accountabilities
• Lead and oversee the entire cargo terminal program, ensuring all workstreams align with project objectives, timelines, and quality expectations.
• Develop and implement program strategies, work plans, and schedules for the terminal’s construction, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Serve as the key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, driving collaboration and clear communication across all teams.
• Manage interface coordination between contractors, MHS suppliers, airport authorities, engineering teams, and operations.
• Identify and resolve interface issues and execution risks to ensure uninterrupted project progress.
• Monitor project timelines and milestones, address delays, and implement corrective actions to maintain project alignment.
• Manage overall program budget, control expenditure, and oversee change orders and cost impacts.
• Ensure all work meets quality standards through inspections, testing, and commissioning oversight.
• Lead operational readiness planning and ensure the smooth transition of the terminal into active service.
• Drive stakeholder engagement through regular reporting on time, cost, risk, and quality metrics.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and environmental standards across the project.
• Champion a culture of performance, accountability, and risk-aware decision-making throughout the program.
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in project management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (master’s preferred).
• 10+ years of experience managing large-scale infrastructure programs, preferably in cargo, logistics, or airport environments.
• Proven expertise in cross-functional team leadership, interface management, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control
• Strong knowledge of construction and operational readiness processes
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Deep understanding of safety, compliance, and regulatory standards in infrastructure or logistics projects
• Proficiency in project management tools such as Primavera, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and lead complex programs to successful delivery
