Synopsis
Responsible for day-to-day operational performance of electronic data submission to customs and security authorities, managing contracted third-party providers and ensure Etihad is compliant with applicable customs [Advanced Cargo Information (ACI)] and ‘Pre-Loading Air Cargo Information’ [PLACI] at all times and respective operational performance is reported.
Accountabilities
• Accountable for establishing advanced customs information (ACI) submission to relevant customs authorities across the network.
• Accountable for establishing advanced security ‘Pre-Loading Air Cargo Information’ [PLACI] submission to relevant security and boarder force authorities across the network.
• Accountable for the performance monitoring, steering and reporting of Advanced Cargo Information (ACI) and Pre-Loading Air Cargo Information’ [PLACI] via a dedicated, 24/7, third-party team to always ensure compliance and avoidance of penalties and fines.
• Responsible to manage any non-compliance cases and potential fines and penalties with internal and external stakeholders (including regulators where applicable) to protecting Etihad’s interests and minimize re-occurrence.
• Produce comprehensive investigation reports, including corrective and preventive actions.
• Responsible for supplier management of third-party manpower and systems providers, ensure fulfilment of contractual and Service Level obligations, manage and control applicable cost budget.
• Accountable for the continuous development, timely implementation and enhancement of applicable customs [ACI] and ‘Pre-Loading Air Cargo Information’ [PLACI regimes, ensuring Etihad is always compliant with applicable regulations.
• Act as the main point of contract to provide guidance, clarification and subject matter expertise to internal and external stakeholders around Advanced Cargo Information (ACI), Pre-Loading Air Cargo Information’ [PLACI] and customs regulations. Creating awareness and enable knowledge transfer across cargo stakeholders, customers and service providers.
• Representing Etihad at appropriate trade and regulatory engagements and working groups related to customs and advanced data submission, incl. but not limited to the IATA Customs Working Group .
• Accountable to establish robust business contingency plans [BCPs] to safeguard Etihad’s ability to effectively respond to disruption scenarios, including but not limited to system outages etc., communicate and periodically test BCPs.
• Make day-to-day operational decisions to manage and mitigate operational safety and security-related risks, through effective evaluation and decision-making based on conditions, hazards and threats.
• Escalate medium or higher-level risks to appropriate senior management executive level personnel.
Education & Experience
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Admin, Aviation and Hospitality
- Minimum 5 to 7 years relevant experience in airline or ground handling operations, Cargo operations being preferred, with at least 3 of these years were in a supervisory/management capacity.
- Qualifications around operations management and specialization in customs [Advanced Cargo Information (ACI)] and ‘Pre-Loading Air Cargo Information’ [PLACI] regulation
