Synopsis

The Manager, Part Engineering (CAMO) is responsible for overseeing the Aircraft and Major Assembly Configuration Control process—including the Part Master function—within Etihad Airways’ Maintenance Information System (MIS).

This role ensures continuous airworthiness and compliance with CAR M 501, CAR M 502, CAR M 503, and CAR M 504 while supporting efficient, safe, and cost-effective operations.

Accountabilities

  • Maintain and update configuration data for aircraft, assemblies, engines, and components within the MIS.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the Part Master function that aligns with the organization’s goals.
  • Oversee the seamless integration of new Etihad Airways aircraft and engines into AMOS, ensuring accurate data migration and configuration control.
  • Work closely with internal and external Stakeholders to ensure consistency and integration of processes.
  • Lead initiatives to innovate and refine processes using best practices and advanced technology solutions.
  • Provide support during contract negotiations and manage vendor relationships to optimize inventory control and resource allocation.
  • Establish and enforce policies to maintain full compliance with international airworthiness standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee departmental budgeting and resource allocation to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Notify Quality and Safety and Engineering of any non-compliance issue with regard to configuration control and system set-up which impact the continuing Airworthiness of the fleet.
  • Implement SMS systems and processes and ensure formal Risk Assessments are carried out for operationally significant changes.
  • Ensures a safe and secure working environment for Etihad employees. Promotes quality of work, safety and security awareness.
  • Actively manages any incidents that may occur to minimize Etihad employees’ injury and other forms of loss.
  • Provides the appropriate time, training, resources, and encouragement to Etihad employees to support their involvement in the on-going development of Etihad’s Safety Management System and safety culture.
  • Monitor the departmental KPIs and continuously take corrective action to improve and exceed the thresholds.
  • Participate in the internal and external audit plan for the department and ensure all findings are addressed and closed within the prescribed timeframe.
  • Provide required training, resources, and encouragement to Etihad employees to support increased efficiencies and promote personal and career development.
  • Promote and support a Safety culture and awareness of the Safety Management System within the department.

Education & Experience

  • The Tertiary qualifications that meet the eligibility requirements for membership as a charted engineer (e.g. bachelor’s degree in the field of Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic engineering) with a minimum 5 years job-related experience.
  • Or Diploma/Aircraft License ICAO Type II License or equivalent, Etihad QA CRS approval is optional with at least 10 years of experience in aviation maintenance.
  • Mandatory training courses in accordance with TPM 3.219 Fleet Engineering – Personnel Training requirements.
