Synopsis

To undertake navigation-related technical and commercial studies, deliver fuel savings, and provide navigation-related information to the Flight Crew. This may include escape procedures, performance-based navigation profiles, and assessing aerodromes for suitability.

Accountabilities

  • Conduct fuel and payload studies for future destinations
  • Responsible for analysing and publishing safety critical information such as terrain avoidance instructions for the flight crew.
  • Performs technical assessments for destinations and alternates. 
  • Ensures that all charting requirements are met to support the network.
  • Participates in Simulator sessions for validating specialised navigation procedures.
  • Provides fuel value assessments for finance to determine annual fuel budgets.

Education & Experience

  • High School Certificate is required.
  • Degree in Engineering would be an advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of Aeronautical Information Services, Air Traffic Management, State Regulatory bodies (JAA/FAA), IATA organisation, resources &
  • processes, & ICAO Annexes & support Manuals.
  • Sound knowledge of airspace and air routes, flight planning systems as well as on-board Navigation computer capabilities, and airport design criteria.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a  Navigation environment, 
  • Previous Flight Planning experience would be an advantag.
