Synopsis

In this role, you will ensure that Fraud is prevented as far as possible or if it does occur, that it is detected and dealt with swiftly. Fraud Prevention is the most cost-effective way to prevent loss through fraud.

Accountabilities

  • Identify, trace, investigate and monitor fraudulent and suspicious activities within customers’ accounts and transactions on behalf of the organization, while making sound subjective decisions to close or restrict risky transactions Determine if there is improper activity involved, and determine if there is any risk to the customers
  • Keeping track of what is going on, handling information from various sources, and following up in a methodical manner that stops fraud from progressing. Develop and determine patterns of fraud over certain areas and identify loopholes in security
  • Should have the technical knowhow to access and monitor activity and data from multiple sources needed to investigate activities. Assist the Manager with collection of data required to mitigate fraud.
  • Use technology to conduct research, correspond with internal business units and colleagues, leverage data, and monitor activity
  • Identify system improvements to eliminate risk of fraud
  • Assist the Manager, in identifying fraud trends, creating mitigation strategies and recommending fraud detection strategy changes
  • Regularly update on professional knowledge that will assist in the job and keep abreast of the latest trends on fraud.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or any related field
  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and "outside-of-the-box". Knowledge and experience in working on SQL is a must.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of Tableau preferable
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and report writing and presentation skills.
