The role of Senior Manager Crew Support and Engagement is an opportunity to lead and inspire in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment. You will champion a culture of care, engagement, and operational excellence, ensuring our pilots receive the support, guidance, and resources they need. You will oversee pilot support services, employee care initiatives, and internal communications strategies that enhance both operational safety and crew engagement. Your influence will extend across workforce well-being, talent progression, and strategic messaging, ensuring alignment with Etihad’s overarching goals.
Accountabilities
- Lead high-impact executive communications, including speeches, videos, and change management initiatives, to foster alignment and engagement across Pilots and Cabin Crew.
- Enhance organizational culture through effective storytelling and strategic messaging.
- Shape and execute internal communications strategies for Flight Operations, ensuring clear, consistent, and inspiring messaging.
- Lead a 24/7 crew support and engagement team, driving operational and cultural alignment.
- Develop and execute forward-thinking strategies that enhance crew experience, ensuring the highest standards of support and engagement.
- Set and monitor performance KPIs, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Oversee comprehensive crew welfare programs, including wellness initiatives, maternity support, peer assistance, and care referrals.
- Manage sensitive welfare cases with discretion and in compliance with legal and regulatory standards, ensuring the well-being of our crew remains a top priority.
- Drive pilot development programs, overseeing non-technical performance, career pathways, and HR case management.
- Collaborate with recruitment to ensure manpower targets are met while fostering a motivated and engaged pilot community.
- Lead engagement strategies that support professional growth, maintain high performance, and reinforce company values.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications or relevant field.
- Minimum 10 years’ management experience within an airline, preferably in a support or engagement role.
- Experience managing cross-functional projects, internal communications campaigns, and large-scale employee engagement initiatives.
- Ability to inspire and manage diverse teams with strong verbal, written, and executive-level communication skills. Skilled in crisis management and internal communications.
- Adept at resolving complex employee and operational challenges with a data-driven approach.
- Experience leading large-scale process improvements, driving efficiency, and optimizing performance through KPI tracking and meaningful reporting.
- Proven ability to partner with senior leadership, HR, Legal, Safety, and operational teams to align policies, manage welfare programs, and drive strategic initiatives.
- Knowledge of aviation regulatory frameworks.
- Proven experience handling sensitive employee relations matters, including case management, investigations, and welfare support.
