Synopsis

Our Finance Senior Manager will be responsible for: (a) Overseeing the financial management and consolidation of Etihad Airways PJSC and its subsidiaries.
(b) Ensuring seamless transaction flow from the Treasury management system to the SAP Financial system, and meticulous accounting of significant transactions in the company's records.
(c) Conducting thorough reviews to establish and maintain an efficient and comprehensive monitoring framework.
(d) Collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including the investor relations team, to prepare quarterly reports for submission to relevant authorities, ensuring transparency and accuracy in financial reporting.

Accountabilities

  • Lead and offer expert guidance on all aspects of accounting management to ensure the effective execution in alignment with accounting principles, policies, and standards.
  • Take the initiative to review current business processes, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency enhancement, and provide strategic direction for the implementation of new ERP systems.
  • Provide authoritative guidance to business units regarding inquiries related to accounting treatment for key business transactions.
  • Assume responsibility for preparing accounting position papers for key business transactions, ensuring rigorous compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Drive the development and improvement of processes and procedures to ensure continuous operational enhancement and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with governmental bodies and authorities, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of all regulatory reports.
  • Spearhead all initiatives for knowledge exchange within the team, fostering continuous improvement in skills and expertise.
  • Oversee the quarterly reviews and annual audits of the financial statements as per agreed timelines.
  • Take charge of managing all internal operational, regulatory, and external audit requests, and develop action plans to address reported audit recommendations within the agreed timeframe, providing timely feedback.
  • Collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including the investor relations team, in preparing quarterly reports for submission to relevant authorities.
  • Ensure impeccable accuracy in deliverables provided to senior management.

Education & Experience

  • Chartered Accountant 
  • +10 years’ experience in finance operations and reporting 
  • Working experience within the airline industry and/or Big 4 Audit firms is preferred
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS package, ERP systems, SAP
  • Excellent English communication (Verbal and Written)
