Synopsis
The Safety Training & Promotion Officer reports directly to the Manager Safety Training & Promotion and is responsible for assisting with the coordination and preparation of safety promotion events including, but not limited to, seminars, workshops, forums and conferences, delivered both online and in person. Acts as deputy for the Manager Safety Training & Promotion in his/her absence.
Accountabilities
- Ensuring all safety communication material is received and reviewed within the agreed timeline.
- Updating training programs to ensure that changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices are incorporated, while following Etihad’s branding.
- Conducting trainings and briefings for Safety & Quality Department.
- Developing training materials for use in classroom and online training events.
- Promoting a positive and just safety culture across the organisation.
- Assisting with the compilation and data analysis for the Safety Culture Survey, ensuring accuracy and timely input.
- Administering and maintaining comprehensive records for all Safety Training courses, including Safety Investigator training documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
- Managing the safety recognition program, including nomination tracking, meeting coordination, ceremony organisation and compiling statistical summaries for publications and reporting.
- Assisting in projects initiated by the Safety Promotion team.
- Researching and drafting articles for safety publications, while identifying and applying best practices that strengthen safety culture and promotion.
- Assisting in preparing audit checklists, reviewing and investigating findings, and ensuring timely implementation of appropriate corrective actions to effectively close audit items.
- Developing close relationship with operational safety managers that drive the development of safety culture.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree, with preference for a field related to safety management.
- Minimum 4 to 5 years operational experience in safety management, preferably in aviation.
- Desirable experience in marketing, communications and social media management, with the ability to promote safety initiatives and engage target audiences in alignment with organisational goals and brand identity.
