Regional Finance Officer - Belgrade

Synopsis

The Finance officer position is centered on delivering financial reporting, compliance, and business partnering support for Etihad Airways’ European region, based in Belgrade. You will be playing a pivotal part in ensuring compliance and managing penalty exposure risks. Additionally, it involves identifying process improvement opportunities across financial operations, including AP, AR, Revenue Accounting, reconciliations.

Note: This is an onsite position based in our offices in Belgrade

Accountabilities

• Assist the Manager in ensuring timely fulfillment of all financial and tax compliance requirements as per financial regulations and company policies.
• Support the Manager in ongoing identification and evaluation of financial risks and opportunities in the region.
• Aid in the annual budget cycle.
• Continuously identify and drive process improvements across departments through the adoption of technology.
• Provide financial guidance and advice to Department heads in the Region.
• Monitor and share financial performance against budget, offering commentary to explain any variances.

Education & Experience

• The position is suitable for a junior accountant with a minimum of 1+ year post-graduation industry experience.
• A Finance-related Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• A Chartered Accountant or Management accounting qualification, or working towards one, would be advantageous.
• Minimum of 1+ years of related experience in finance and tax within the Europe or Americas region is required.
• Experience working in SAP systems is advantageous.
• A confident communicator across different stakeholder levels, from managers to senior executives
• Russian and other European languages is a preferred.
